A low pressure system lying to the west of New Zealand extends a series of fronts and troughs over the country today before moving onto central New Zealand tomorrow. On Saturday a cold southwesterly flow develops as the low moves away to the east. On Sunday a narrow ridge moves across the country, followed by an unsettled west to southwest flow.
