Today a ridge of high pressure over northern and central New Zealand moves away to the east as a low deepens in the Tasman Sea, and a front moves onto Fiordland. Tomorrow, the front pushes north reaching central New Zealand. Meanwhile, the low and associated fronts approaches the country from the west. On Thursday a low moves east over central New Zealand followed by a cold southwesterly flow. A low to the east of the nation directs a cold southerly flow across the country on Friday and Saturday.
