Situation:
A cold front over the South Island moves northeast across the country and gradually weakens today, followed by a ridge. Another weak front moves northeast over New Zealand tomorrow, followed by a ridge of high pressure. Over Sunday and into the start of next week a ridge of high pressure extends over southern and central New Zealand. Meanwhile, east to southeast winds directed by the ridge bring showers to northern and eastern parts of the North Island.
