Marine Recreational Forecasts - Rotorua

Area Description:
Lake Rotorua
Situation:
A ridge of high pressure stays slow-moving to the east of the country, directing north to northeast flow to much of New Zealand today. A front over the Tasman Sea moves east to approach the country tomorrow, and winds strengthen in the north and west of New Zealand. Strong north to northeast flow covers the country as a stationary front over Fiordland gradually presses east against a ridge of high pressure. The front should move eastwards onto central and northern New Zealand during Tuesday, preceded by a burst of heavy rain and strong to gale northeasterlies. On Wednesday, the front should clear the remainder of the country with showery westerly quarter flow following in behind.
