Area Description:

The Bay of Islands and inshore waters from Cape Brett to the Poor Knights Islands to Bream Head.

Situation:

A front clears away to the northeast of the country this morning, while a ridge covers northern and central New Zealand. Northwesterlies strengthen over southern New Zealand ahead of and approaching cold front. The front is expected to move up the South Island from early tomorrow morning. Northwesterlies strengthen over central New Zealand early Friday, ahead of a broad low-pressure system approaching from the Tasman Sea. This system looks set to cross central New Zealand during Friday and early Saturday. Another front reaches the lower South Island Saturday evening, then moves north, reaching central New Zealand by Sunday night.
