League: No changes for Warriors vs Cowboys

The Warriors will front the side who beat the Broncos when they travel to Townsville to face the State of Origin-depleted Cowboys on Saturday night.

The Cowboys have lost no one from their pack, unless captain Travis Norton faces a late call-up to replace Bronco Tonie Carroll, who has a calf strain.

But their entire backline changes. Fullback Matt Bowen, wings Ty Williams and Matt Sing, centre Paul Bowman and five-eighth Johnathan Thurston are all in the Origin camp, with the Broncos providing just Darren Lockyer and Shaun Berrigan.

The Cowboys had the bye in the week of Origin One and lost 34-4 to the Dragons after Origin Two.

The Warriors fancy their chances of taking a rare away win at Dairy Farmers Stadium.

Big prop Iafeta Paleaaesina - labelled "Mr Effective" for his barnstorming runs from the first game in which he played against the Northern Eagles in 2001 - has signed a big-money deal with Wigan, though no one is saying how big.

"He started with us as a raw novice in 2001 and has developed into one of the most dangerous impact forwards in the NRL," Warriors chief excutive Mick Watson said. "But with the experience he has gained and the salary cap constraints in the NRL we couldn't compete with the offer he had from Wigan.

"No club in the NRL would be able to come close to it."

Wigan head coach Ian Millward said he was delighted to have secured Paleaaesina, particularly in the face of competition from other British clubs.

"This is a great signing for us. He will add size and pace to our pack for next year."

In a statement released by Wigan, Paleaaesina said he was looking forward to joining [former Warrior] Jerry Seuseu.

"It's a great thrill to be joining Wigan and my good friend Jerry. I had several offers, but Wigan are still the biggest name down here and it will be a thrill to play for them."
