There's some good news for women using the internet to meet a man.
NZDating.com, the country's largest dating service, researched the so-called "man drought" for the Herald on Sunday and found there were more men seeking women than women seeking men.
The skew was 60/40.
While it was a common perception men were bigger users of the internet, that wasn't the case in New Zealand, said NZDating.com's John Harris - we have one of the best gender parity rates of web users in the world.
"Our figures reveal the opposite [to the man drought] is true - at least when it comes to online dating and friendships," said Harris.
However he said there were four districts where the man drought theory was reinforced.
Gisborne, Wairarapa, Waikato and the West Coast had more females seeking males.
