A week of fine, sunny weather made for lots of outdoor activity in and around Wanganui at the weekend. Bason Botanic Gardens was busy yesterday, with barbecues for Conservation Department and Red Cross volunteers, and a Christmas party for the hospital's theatre staff and their children. There were people walking, people lying in the sun, several games of cricket, a hula hoop contest and a sack race for children.
